It was the summer of 2004 whens Athens was living its own dream. Olympic Games were back to their birth place and Greece seemed capable of hosting the biggest athletic event. The opening ceremony surpassed every expectation.
The flame went out and along with it every hope of reclaiming the Olympic venues. They were never used again and 10 years after, only abandonment dominates the whole place. Garbage, rust and wires, faded seats, over growing plants and broken windows do not allow the entrance and their presence can only remind us of what we are capable but also incapable too. The destruction scenes you come up against and the feelings of shame and disappointment has nothing to do with Athens 2004.
